Clare Therese is a surface pattern designer and illustrator who graduated with a BA in Fine Art Painting from Norwich School of Art & Design (NUCA). She continued her studies on The Drawing Year postgraduate programme at the Royal Drawing School focusing on imaginative and observational drawing & printmaking.
Clare is inspired by the natural environment of her rural Hampshire surroundings. She lives and works on a farm with her young family, taking on commissions alongside creating surface pattern designs and illustrations for printed textiles and homewares. You'll find a glimpse of studio life almost daily on Instagram. Aside from her surface pattern designs, She takes on project-based collaborations with like minded companies. Her work varies from packaging design, to book illustration to design for ceramics and fabric.
Clare's work always starts with hand-drawn & painted motifs, reworked into digital designs with Adobe Photoshop. She loves to experiment with different media and techniques, from lino & mono printing to pen & ink, gouache, pencil and watercolour. Primarily she draws inspiration from nature, but loves to surround herself with vintage fabric, painting, botanical prints and is an avid pinterester.
Clare Therese is developing a growing range of patterns & drawings and would love to hear from you if you are interested purchasing designs or commissions. If you'd like to discuss working together please get in touch.
