Experience an enchanting autumnal journey with Clare and Ohn Mar in our one day captivating florals workshop. 

Immerse yourself in watercolour, mixed media, and gouache artistry, weaving creativity with seasonal botanical wonders at Lower Norton Flower Farm, near Winchester.  This immersive workshop is an unmissable opportunity to indulge in creativity amidst picturesque surroundings. The workshop will be split into a morning and afternoon session so you have an opportunity to work with both artists. Reserve your spot now for a workshop that promises to enchant and inspire.

With Ohn Mar you will explore botanicals through watercolour and ink.

- We will play with warm up techniques to build up confidence and muscle memory 
- You will learn how to observe and break down parts into shapes 
- Through simplification and contrast you will capture the essence of the flower
​- By the end of the session you will have created loose and expressive mixed media florals 

With Clare you will be working from seasonal florals, exploring the medium of gouache with pencil to create loose botanical-inspired illustrations.

- The focus of the workshop will be to develop a working knowledge of gouache
- We will be working through a range of warm-up techniques to get you started with drawing and painting from life
- You will develop skills in brush control and colour mixing, creating coloured grounds, layering and fine detailing
- We will begin creating dynamic compositions as the starting point for a more finished gouache study, using a limited palette and pencil drawing
- By the end of the session you will have created a loose botanical-inspired painting

All levels of experience are welcome, from beginners through to experienced artists looking to apply gouache, watercolour and mixed media to their work. 

All paints, paper, brushes and materials will be provided as part of this workshop.

A buffet lunch will be provided (please state if you need gluten free or vegan options at time of booking)

​Come in suitable footwear as we will be exploring the flower farm garden.


ABOUT THE TEACHERS

Ohn Mar Win 
 
Ohn Mar is an artist, illustrator, teacher and author. She is a great advocate of sketchbooks having filled over 40, serving as a record of her creative journey as a self-taught watercolourist. Oftentimes these sketch explorations provide the basis for her classes and workshops. Ohn Mar has 30 watercolor and illustration classes with over 150,000 students on Skillshare. 
 
She has worked with UNICEF, BBC, Marks and Spencer and major international food brands. Ohn Mar is the author of Go With The Flow Painting. Her work has also been featured on greetings cards, home decor, fabric and giftware. Her mission statement is: ‘I use my creativity and intuition to support and inspire myself, and then help others do the same', which allows Ohn Mar to remain open to new opportunities, to learn, inspire, and create.

Clare Therese Gray
 
Clare is an illustrator, surface pattern designer, author and educator based in the UK, inspired by the natural environment of her rural Hampshire surroundings. Her illustrations and patterns are primarily inspired by the changing seasons, fauna, flowers and plants of the British Isles. She works prolifically with a variety of mixed media including gouache, watercolour, pencil and ink to create lively floral and nature-inspired artworks. 
 
Clare’s design experience spans a range of clients and sectors from textiles to craft collections, homewares to book illustration. She is the author of two books, ‘Painting Nature with Clare’ and ‘Woodland Watercolor: A Coloring Workbook’ and illustrates the ‘Agnes Series’ picture books for children. Her patterns can be found around the world on children’s and women’s apparel, luxury toiletries, stationery, ceramics and decorative objects.
